  7.     RelationShips is a strategy game in which each player tries to outwit the 
  8.  other and be the first to get five ships or boats outfitted. 
  9.  
  10.     One of the players outfits boats with smokestacks and the other puts cannons 
  11.  on ships.        
  12.  
  13.     When it's your turn to play, all you have to do is   pick one of the 
  14.  squares on the board.  Press the letter that corresponds to the square you 
  15.  want, or use your mouse to click on it. 
  16.  
  17.     Play against the computer, but be prepared for a broadside. 
  18.  
  19.     The game begins in a human vs. computer mode.  The computer is set to its 
  20.  simplest setting.  To begin, just enter a letter from A to P. 
  21.  
  22.     If the square you pick is empty, one of your boats will be put in it.  If 
  23.  the square has a boat, the boat will get more smokestacks.  If the boat is 
  24.  touching any other boats like it, it will get even more stacks.  If it's next 
  25.  to any ships, however, it won't get as many. As soon as you get five boats 
  26.  with four smokestacks, each, you win.

  28.     For example, if you choose the square on the left below, you will get two 
  29.   ┌────┬────┐  smoke stacks, one for choosing the square and one ┌────┬────┐
  30.   │ X +│boat│  because it is next to a square with another boat  │boat│+ X │
  31.   └────┴────┘  in it.  If you choose the square in the center on └────┼──═─┤
  32.  the right, you will only add a single smoke stack since the ship     │ship│

  37.     If you are using a mouse, the cursor on the screen looks like a small flag. 
  38.  To use the menu, place the top of the flag on your choice.  Click and release 
  39.  to activate.  Use the mouse to answer yes and no, too. The left button is yes.  
  40.  Click the right for no.

  42.     The following keys control game actions:  
  43.  
  44.     Press <F1> for Help.
  45.     Press <F2> to change the player settings.
  46.     Press <F3> to toggle the sound off and on.
  47.     Press <F4> to take back moves or start over.
  48.     Press <ESC> to end the game or to exit menus
  49.              without change.
