  1. POWER READING - better than Speed Reading!
  2. Your reading ability is one of your most important tools
  3. for personal success. If you read fast and have good comprehension,
  4. your learning rate increases and you tend to succeed!
  5. Power reading techniques train you to read faster without
  6. skipping words. You learn to read groups of words, in clusters,
  7. so that you don't miss the author's meaning. With these
  8. techniques, you can switch from a study rate to a pleasure
  9. rate instantly to match the type of material you are reading.
  10. The Personal Learning System adjusts itself to the difficulty
  11. level of the user. From sixth grade to adult, the system measures
  12. your performance on each lesson and automatically sets new speeds
  13. to assure success. As your speed gradually develops, you will
  14. begin to lose those old "sounding out" habits that cause slow
  15. reading and poor comprehension. Reading becomes enjoyable.
  16. At any time, the PLS will print a complete record of your progress.
  17. After each lesson, you can print a hard copy of the lesson story.
  18. Be sure a printer is attached before you continue.
  19. There are no manuals needed to learn Power Reading techniques.
  20. With visual techniques, the computer trains your eyes to see
  21. clusters of words at increasing speeds. Then it develops smooth
  22. left-to-right eye movements and combines these new skills for
  23. total improvement of reading. When you read word clusters, you
  24. take in thoughts rather than just words. Comprehension improves!
  25. Lessons include full length stories, not just a series of dull
  26. paragraphs. Stories range from mysteries to adventure to history,
  27. written to interest a wide age range. Within each lesson, your
  28. comprehension is checked and your progress is recorded.
  29. Most of us use only a small portion of our real reading ability.
  30. After just fifteen lessons, you will double your reading speed
  31. while increasing comprehension and enjoyment. Each day, your new
  32. reading skills will transfer to everyday reading.
  33. A copy of the Entry Level Survey is included in this Demo. It is
  34. now loading into memory. Try it! It will take about ten minutes
  35. to complete. When you are finished, it will show (and print out)
  36. some important information about your visual skills and your
  37. present reading speed. Then it will show your real potential.
