^CGeorge Leritte, from an idea by John Straub
RED DOG is an old west card game, also known as High Card Pool. It was
played by cowboys in the 1800's. It is a cross between twenty-one and poker.
From one to four can play, with the computer as dealer. The game uses a
standard deck of fifty-two cards with the ace as high card.
^CGetting Started
The main menu allows three options:
P - Play the Game
I - Display instructions for the Game
Q - Quit
Type P to play the game.
Each player starts with $100 and the game ends when all players have lost
their money or cashed in.
^CThe Object of the Game
For each hand, bet on whether one of the cards in your hand will be higher
than the card the computer-dealer turns up. Bets may be from one dollar to
your total.
After a player bets, the computer-dealer turns up the next card. If the
player has a card of the SAME SUIT and higher rank, he wins the amount of his
bet. If he does not have a card of the same suit, or if it is a lower rank,
he loses.
^CEnding the Game
When it is a player's turn, he may choose to "Cash In" his chips and leave
the game. If all players cash in, or all players have lost all their money,
the game ends.
