Dear Big Blue Disk,
I would like to commend you for DATEBOOK (BBD #29). It is sophisticated
yet user-friendly, and far superior to other similar programs. I use it to
keep track of my clinical appointments. Since I also have a need to enter
historical data in conjunction with my writing, your four-century range from
1700-2099 is greatly appreciated.
May I call your attention to an error in the program (although it would
be insignificant for most users). The days of the week for the year 1800
and for the year 1900 are incorrect--one day behind. Thus, according to your
calendar 12/31/1799 is a Tuesday and 1/1/1800 is also a Tuesday (should be a
Wednesday). Similarly, 12/31/1899 and 1/1/1900 are designated Sundays. While
1800 and 1900 are correctly shown as non-leap century years, the error
recapitulates throughout those two years. Fortunately, an over-correction on
1/1/1801 and 1/1/1901 rectifies this error for the rest of these centuries.
Despite this curious error for those two years, DATEBOOK is a superb
calendar for recording past, present, and future events. It has earned a
place in my AUTOEXEC.BAT.

^1> Richard and I certainly appreciate the compliments. We really enjoyed
^1>working on the program together. I have just recently come across the
^1>error you describe and worked out a solution. I must apologize for any
^1>inconvenience it may have caused. By the time you read this, you should have
^1>received a corrected version.

Dear Big Blue Disk,
I know it has been quite a while since this issue has been out, but I'm one
of those bull-headed people who likes to figure things out for themselves. I
have been trying to copy your Moraff's Revenge (BBD #31) onto my hard disk.
I've become hooked on it and, unfortunately, did not do it first thing. Now
my disk is full and I can't play the game unless I put it on my hard drive or
onto another disk. I would prefer to put it on another disk, but so far I
have not been able to do so.
I did manage to copy the disk onto my hard drive, but unless I boot it
from the disk, I get the message "BRUN30.EXE not present, new path" on my
screen. I am not a whiz on computers, everything I know I've either taught
myself or asked people who have been working with computers.
I would like to get this problem solved as quickly as possible. If you
would let me know what files I need to copy for the program to work? Right
now, I have the whole floppy copied onto my hard drive. Also, I will need to
know how to redirect the path, so I do not have to re-boot it each time.
I would also like to get a subscription to your magazine, but the book
stores near me do not seem to carry it any longer.
Thank you for your time and co-operation, it is greatly appreciated.

^1> I'm sorry to hear that you are having difficulty copying Moraff's Revenge
^1>to your hard drive. We created a special batch file to perform that task for
^1>you, but forgot to include the BRUN30.EXE program. What you need to do is
^1>insert the disk that contains the game in your "A:" drive. Change the
^1>current drive to the hard disk drive that contains the game. If the game is
^1>in a subdirectory, change to that subdirectory. Type the following command
^1>and press <ENTER>:
^1> COPY A:BRUN30.EXE
^1> This should correct the problem. If you have any difficulty doing this,
^1>don't hesitate to let me know. Also, you should receive subscription
^1>information shortly. Thanks for asking!

Dear Big Blue Disk,
I am a subscriber to Big Blue Disk, and wonder if you plan to issue some
kind of index to the programs therein.
It would be most convenient if you would include an index, say once a year,
which would include all the program in the Big Blue issues for that one year.
This could be issued in December and your index could indicate in which month
each of the programs is featured.
In my opinion, this would be a most worthwhile feature to be added to a
very good disk magazine.

^1> We have just begun the initial work on a program of this type. I am
^1>hoping that we can complete work on it and publish it in the very near
^1>future.
