  4. The orangutan, "Man of the Woods," is a native of the islands

  6. Borneo and Sumatra.  Mainly a vegetarian, an adult male orangutan

  8. is around 4 feet tall and weighs between 150 and 200 pounds.

  10. The orangutan travels through the trees of the jungle by

  12. swinging from limb to limb on his massive arms.  His armspread 
  13.  
  14. (up to 7 feet) enables him to travel faster than a man can run
  15.  
  16. on the jungle floor below.  The only predators that dare attack 
  17.  
  18. the orangutan are the crocodile and python, and they are rarely 
  19.  
  20. successful.  Orangutans are very intelligent and can be taught to 
  21.  
  22. perform many human-like activities.
