  8.      This Electronic Crayon Demo contains 10 pictures that can be colored 
  9.  again and again.  And it's simple to use, too!  With a cursor that looks like 
  10.  a crayon, just point and click to choose a color, then point and click to fill 
  11.  the area you want to color.  If you don't like the way the color looks, you 
  12.  can fill the same area with another color.  Or you can erase the colors form 
  13.  the entire picture and start all over!  If you have a printer, you can print a 
  14.  picture alone or with a calendar of any month and color the pictures by hand.

  19.  Every child is different, but most preschool and primary-aged children will 
  20.  need some help in getting started.  After your child has had a little 
  21.  practice, he or she will probably be able to select and color pictures 
  22.  without any help.  Your child will, however, need your guidance in starting 
  23.  the computer, choosing the setup options, and printing the pictures.

  25.  The term "point and click" refers to pointing of the crayon (cursor) at a 
  26.  color or an area on the screen and pressing a button or key to select a color 
  27.  or fill an area.

  32.  To change options, press the up/down arrows or the number of the option you 
  33.  want, then press RETURN (or ENTER).  What keys do what will always be printed 
  34.  at the top of the screen, with mini directions printed at the bottom.

  36.  SHOW CURRENT SETUP - This  is a quick and easy way to verify what options are 
  37.                       currently selected.

  39.  CHANGE INPUT DEVICES - The Electronic Crayon Series Demo is set for the 
  40.                         keyboard as the input device, although you may change 
  41.                         this setting to Automatic, Mouse, Joystick, or 
  42.                         Keyboard.

  44.       1. AUTOMATIC : Your input device is automatically determined.  
  45.       2. MOUSE : The Electronic Crayon Series Demo works with a Microsoft 
  46.          compatible mouse only.  You must have a device driver installed to use 
  47.          the mouse.  Please see your mouse manual for proper installation.   
  48.       3. JOYSTICK : On the PCjr, the joysick must be plugged in the port 
  49.          farthest from the keyboard port. 
  50.       4. KEYBOARD : Use the four arrow keys to move the crayon up, down, left 
  51.          and right.  Pressing <CTRL> or <ALT> and an arrow key at the same 
  52.          time, will cause the crayon to move faster.  Also <PgUp> and <PgDn> 
  53.          will move the crayon up and down quickly.  Press <ENTER> to click on 
  54.          an item.  You can also activate the other commands represented in the 
  55.          boxes at the top and bottom of the screen by pressing <ALT> and the 
  56.          first letter of the command.

  58.  CHANGE DISPLAY MODE - The Electronic Crayon Series Demo will work on a CGA 
  59.  card (4 colors), and EGA card (16 colors), or the Tandy 1000 16 color mode 
  60.  (which is the same as the PCjr 16 color mode).  With the CGA card, you may 
  61.  choose which 4 color set you use by pressing the <F1> and <F2> keys.  To save 
  62.  this set, press <F3>.  To display 16 colors on the PCjr, you must have at 
  63.  least 256K and your memory expansion driver must allocate 32K for graphics.  
  64.  Please read your memory expansion documentation!  IBM PS 2 owners: while your 
  65.  computer is equipped with a 16 color card, the VGA, it is NOT the same as an 
  66.  EGA card.  If you do not have an EGA card, you must select the 4 color CGA 
  67.  mode.

  69.  CHANGE PRINTER SETUP - Prior to printing a picture from the Electronic Crayon 
  70.  Series Demo, you should setup the disk for your printer.  You must specify 
  71.  which port the printer is connected to: LPT1, LPT2 (parallel ports), or COM1 
  72.  or COM2 (serial ports), or PRN (usually the same as LPT1).

  74.  CHANGE PRINTING OPTIONS -  You may print out pictures with one of two options:
  75.  
  76.        1. Print Picture Alone : This option prints the picture alone and 
  77.           upright.
  78.        2. Print Picture with Calendar - After selecting this option, type in 
  79.           the month MM and the year YYYY for the calendar that you want printed 
  80.           below your picture.  For example, to print the month July 1988, type 
  81.           07 for MM and 1988 for YYYY.

  83.  EXIT/SAVE SETUP - When you've choosen all of your options, this selection will 
  84.  save your new setup and exit to the title screen.
