  7.      According to the Webster's Dictionary, statistics is the "mathematics of
  8.  the collection, organization, and interpretation of numerical data."  The
  9.  goal of statistics is to make judgements based on data.  A perfect example is
  10.  the ability of network news to predict the outcome of elections before the
  11.  polls close.

  13.     The statistician uses many techniques in the analysis of information.  Chi
  14.  Square is one such method.  The basic idea behind Chi Square is to find out if
  15.  a set of numbers just happened to occur the way they did by chance or if there
  16.  was some other factor which may have influenced them.  This tutorial provides
  17.  step by step instruction in the use of the Chi Square method of analysis.
  18.  Once you have completed the tutorial, you can exercise your new-found
  19.  knowledge by putting together additional sets of test data to analyze.
