  9.    One of the uses proposed for personal computers during the home computer 
  10. craze a few years ago was storing recipes.  This craze fizzled after a while, 
  11. and most people seemed to be satisfied keeping recipes the old-fashioned way, 
  12. on paper cards and cookbooks.
  13.  
  14.    Well, Vanilla Software is trying to bring back the concept of computerized 
  15. cooking with a series of disks full of recipes, and a user-friendly program to 
  16. present them.  We have arranged with them to present a sampler from this 
  17. series.  If reader response to this is favorable, you may see more recipe 
  18. samplers in future issues.

  20.    The Diskette Cookbook presenter has built-in instructions to help the user 
  21. make the most of it.  It contains lots of powerful features to let you find 
  22. the recipe you want, adjust quantities to suit your needs, and generate a 
  23. shopping list.  Information is also included on how you can purchase the full 
  24. Diskette Cookbook series, including the Cookbook Plus program, which allows 
  25. you to enter your own recipes.

  27.    Some of the recipes included this issue are Louisiana-style dishes from the 
  28. Southern Legacies cookbook.  Our state's Cajun cuisine has become very popular 
  29. all over lately, and these recipes will let you sample gumbo, jambalaya, and 
  30. other red-hot dishes.  Thank goodness we've got the local fire station right 
  31. across the street from our offices; you might need to extinguish a blaze in 
  32. your belly after tasting this food.

  34.    Also included is a sampler from the Any Time's a Party cookbook, containing 
  35. recipes for all occasions.  This month it's time to get ready for St. Patrick's
  36. Day with some Irish delights.

  38.    Note:  Due to technical reasons, there is no Copyit option for this program, 
  39. so you will have to use DOS to transfer it to another disk.
