HARVEST
---------
Many of the programs, music, articles, and artwork you see in BIG BLUE DISK
were submitted by our readers. We call these materials Harvest. Here are
two good reasons to send us your Harvest submissions:
-- If your work appears in BIG BLUE DISK, it will be seen by thousands of
our readers nationwide. Many well known software authors have shared
their work with us in our disk publications SOFTDISK, LOADSTAR, and
BIG BLUE DISK. You're in good company.
-- We pay you cash for the right to publish your work in BIG BLUE DISK.
We do not purchase your programs-- instead, the money we pay you only gives
us the license to run the program on the magazine. You retain full rights
to your work.
We may, however, convert your program so that it may be run on one of our
sister publications, SOFTDISK for the Apple II series, and LOADSTAR for the
Commodore 64 and 128. If we run the program on one of these publications,
you will receive one half of the amount we originally paid for the program
for each conversion.
Follow these steps when submitting programs (or other material) to BIG BLUE
DISK:
1. Format a new disk; then use the BLUELINE text editor to create a feedback
file on your new disk. Tell us about the program: how to use it, what
it does, etc. We need complete documentation so that we can evaluate
your work quickly and efficiently.
If you submit an adventure game, we also need a map and a complete
list of puzzles and solutions.
2. Copy all files related to your program onto the disk you have just
created.
3. Enclose a paper note with your disk telling us that you have placed
a program on the disk. If you have a printout of the Program Submission
Form, that will do nicely.
4. PLEASE include your full name, address, and phone number in your feedback
and your name in the program.
5. Remember, BIG BLUE DISK is not public domain. Put your name on the title
page of your program so everyone will know who wrote the program.
You won't be losing a disk, either. We will send you a replacement disk
when we receive yours.
After receiving and reviewing your program (which takes roughly six to eight
weeks) we will send you a letter telling you the status of your program.
Keep up the good work.
