  3. The IJG (Independent JPEG Group's JPEG Library) software converts
  4. between the JPEG JFIF format and various other formats, and implements
  5. JPEG compression and decompression.  The source file for IJG is 
  6. contained in the software/unix/jpeg directory on this CD-ROM, but 
  7. this source is platform-independent and has been successfully 
  8. compiled for MS-DOS as well as UNIX.
