  8. Growing up in the sixties, C.F. Yankovich spent weekends curled up with her uncle's discarded collection 
  9. of Edgar Rice Burroughs novels.  Most of her allowance ended up at the corner drugstore, traded for 
  10. paperback science fiction from a battered bookrack.  At the University of Iowa, she studied physics and 
  11. math, worked as a technician for the space sciences group (headed by the legendary James Van Allen), 
  12. and passed weekends selling paintings at student art shows along the riverwalk.

  14. Currently, she spends her days disguised as a meek programmer for the State of Arizona, and her 
  15. evenings writing and painting.  Primarily a space and science fiction artist, she is a life-time member of 
  16. both the International Association for the Astronomical Arts and the Association of Science Fiction and 
  17. Fantasy Artists (ASFA).  Her art has appeared in AD ASTRA, ANALOG, and MARION ZIMMER 
  18. BRADLEY'S FANTASY MAGAZINE.  Collectors of her work include author Rick Cook.

  20. Her works have appeared in many local, national, and international exhibitions, including the Hub 
  21. Gallery, the Fiske Planetarium, the Casa Grande Art Museum, the Cleveland Museum of Natural History, 
  22. the Bergen Museum, and the American Museum of Natural History.
