  8. Welcome to the wonderful world of personal finance under OS/2 2.x.  SM Money is
  9. the first and only personal finance program designed specifically for OS/2 2.x.
  10. I hope you find using SM Money easy and fun.  More over, I hope you find that
  11. SM Money is useful.

  13. FEATURES:

  15. SM Money makes use of many of OS/2 2.x's special features and capabilities and
  16. is fully 32-bit for speed.  SM Money makes it easy to manage your checking and
  17. savings accounts because you already know how SM Money works:  SM Money works
  18. from a checkbook metaphor, and has a register that looks just like your
  19. checkbooks check register!  It is easy to add, modify, and delete transactions
  20. (records) through pull-down menus or a convenient pop-up context menu.  The
  21. context menu deserves special recognition:  As an OS/2 user you are aware
  22. that OS/2 itself doesn't have a menu bar, but instead has a menu that is
  23. displayed whenever you click the right mouse button anywhere on the background.
  24. This menu is called a context menu.  SM Money has a similar context menu:  click
  25. the right moust button anywhere in the check register and up pops a menu of
  26. frequently used commands.  SM Money also has a special reconcile mode that 
  27. makes reconciling your checkbook with your bank statement easy.  SM Money also
  28. has extensive on-line help that is very easy to use.  In fact, all of the 
  29. documentation is included in the on-line help.  If you ever have a question on
  30. how SM Money works, just turn to the on-line help available through the help
  31. menu.  SM Money also creates and updates SMMONEY.INI which keeps track of
  32. important program informatin like the last screen position and last open
  33. file.  SM Money then reads in the .INI file information at startup, loading the
  34. last open file and starting in the last screen position.  This is a convenient
  35. feature:  because most people only work with one checking account, you rarely
  36. have to use the OPEN command from the file menu--SM Money starts with your
  37. checking account already open.

  48. SM Money needs no installation, simply type SMMONEY.  It is recommended that
  49. the above files (or just SMMONEY.EXE & SMMONEY.HLP) are kept together in
  50. their own directory.  SMMONEY.EXE and SMMONEY.HLP are the only two files
  51. necessary for operation.

  53. HOW TO ORDER:

  55. SM Money is SHAREWARE.  As such, if you continue to use SM Money after 30 days
  56. then you are obligated to register (order) SM Money.  Registration is only $20
  57. and brings you:

  59. * A clear-conscience.  Continuing to use SM Money and NOT registering would be
  60.    wrong and illegal--you don't want that on your conscience, so register!

  62. * Your name in the product info dialog box where UNREGISTERED currently appears.

  68. * Future upgrades and new versions at a reduced price.

  70. Shareware is a great thing, but without your support shareware developers don't
  71. have an incentive to continue developing quality shareware programs.  If you
  72. like and/or use SM Money, please consider registering SM Money--it is the right
  73. thing to do.
