  4. ENVELOGO is a quick and simple way of producing an addressed envelope with your 
  5. logo on it.  The program relies on having a template file  on disk that it can 
  6. quickly dump out to the printer, while just inserting the desired destination 
  7. address.

  16. The  ENVELOGO  main window shows the address to be used for the destination of 
  17. your envelope, and the envelope type or style  that will be produced.

  39. When you start the program, a default envelope type  will always appear in the 
  40. Envelope Type field in the main window.  This is the envelope type  which will 
  41. be used for printing an envelope, unless someone selects a different envelope 
  42. from the selection list.  Clicking on the "File"/"Change setup"/"Set default 
  43. envelope" menu selection causes a window to appear to allow you to choose a 
  44. different envelope type to be used as a default when the program starts up.

  49. Clicking on the "File"/"Change setup"/"Add envelope type" allows you to add a 
  50. new envelope template to your list of envelope types.

  52. First, a "file dialog" box will appear, to allow you to enter the file name and 
  53. path of the template file.  Then you will have a chance to select a name for 
  54. this new type of envelope.

  66. The program can remember certain default settings selected by the user, from 
  67. one session to the next.  The settings are:

  73. Any time you wish to save the default settings that the program uses when it 
  74. starts up, select the "File"/"Save changes" menu item.  This causes the default 
  75. settings to be written to the initialization file  on disk.

  214. With this window, you can delete an envelope type  from your list of available 
  215. selections.  Simply click on the envelope name you wish to delete, to highlight 
  216. it, and then click on the Delete button.  It will automatically be removed from 
  217. the list on the main window.

  219. You will be asked to confirm if you wish to save the change (ie. make the 
  220. change permanent).  Note that the actual template file is not deleted; only the 
  221. listing of it in the selection list on the main window.

  226. Click on the envelope type  you wish to delete.  Your selection will then be 
  227. highlighted.  You can use the horizontal scrollbar to see the name of the 
  228. corresponding template file.  This file will not be deleted; only the reference 
  229. to it in the ENVELOGO list.  Click on the Delete button to complete the 
  230. operation.

  235. When you have selected (highlighted) the envelope type  you wish to delete, 
  236. click on the Delete button to finish.  You will be asked to confirm if you wish

  248. This window allows you to add a new type of envelope  to your list of available 
  249. selections.  A file name (and path), and a name  that identifies the envelope 
  250. type to you, are all that are required. Click on Add when these two items have 
  251. been specified.

  256. Enter a name for the envelope type  you are adding.  You may make the name 
  257. virtually anything that serves to identify it to you.  For example, "My 
  258. Business Envelope" would be an acceptable name.

  263. If you are sure you have entered the correct template file,  and a name  for 
  264. the envelope type  you are adding, click the "Add" button to finish.  You will 
  265. be asked if you wish to save the change.

  276. This is a read-only field (you cannot type directly into this field) which 
  277. contains the name and path of the template file  for the envelope type that you 
  278. are adding.  If some of the text is hidden, you may click on the text to 
  279. "focus" on it, and then use the left and right scroll keys to move the text.

  292. The template file is an exact copy of the data which must be sent to your 
  293. printer to print a particular style or type of envelope.  In addition, in the 
  294. template file, a dummy address, or placeholder, which in fact consists merely 
  295. of six lines of "aaa" (without the quotes), shows ENVELOGO where the address 
  296. lines should be inserted.

  298. The user can select from a number of templates, if a choice between different 
  299. envelope formats are desired. 
  300.  
  301. The template file can be created with many editor programs, or most desktop 
  302. publishing programs.

  307. When ENVELOGO starts up, it looks for its initialization file, called 
  308. ENVELOGO.INI.  This file contains data about the default settings you prefer 
  309. for ENVELOGO, and a list of the envelope types you use.

  311. When using ENVELOGO for the first time, it will not find this file.  This is 
  312. normal, and it will create one.

  317. You may create different envelope types, or styles.  For example, you may have 
  318. one style for your personal use, and another for your business. You may have 
  319. one that says "Air Mail" on it, or any other variations you desire.  You may 
  320. have one for standard size business envelopes, and another for the smaller 
  321. personal envelopes. 
  322.  
  323. This is accomplished by simply storing a different template file for each 
  324. desired type of envelope.

  326. Each time you print an envelope, you can select the desired type of envelope 
  327. from a listbox.

  381. you may terminate the program and look for a problem.  The INI file should be

  402. This message gives you the option to save the changes so that they will be 
  403. remembered from one session to the next.  If you elect not to save the changes, 
  404. you can always save them later in the session by selecting "Save Changes" in 
  405. the "File" menu in the main window.  If you do not save the changes, they will 
  406. be in effect only during this session, and next time you run ENVELOGO the 
  407. previous default values will be used.
