RE: CompuClock v1.0
P.O. Box 95613
Seattle, WA 98145-2613
Due to the high service charge by the bank to collect on overseas checks,
and considering the low price of this program, I will only be able to
accept payment/registration from the United States and Canada.
Be sure to leave me a mailing address and phone number, so that I can
notify you of the password that unlocks the initial pause screen. Also I
will be able to mail you announcements of future updates and product
releases.
Have any questions or comments? Feel free to contact me at (206) 528-0968.
If I were to change phone numbers in the future, you can still contact me
via the above P.O. Box.
EXPLANATION:
CompuClock actually doubles as two valuable programs:
1. By typing "CLOCK <Enter>" CompuClock makes for a good graphical
replacement of the DOS date and time commands.
2. If your computer does not have a working clock/battery (eg- when your
computer boots up, it defaults to 1980 etc.) then put "CLOCK L" in your
autoexec.bat file, to recall the last date set.
In addition to a graphical clock and calendar, CompuClock also notifies you
as to the following 68 holidays:
All Saints' Day Father's Day New Year's Day
All Souls' Day Father-in-law Day New Year's Eve
April Fool's Day Fed Income Tax Deadline Pan American Day
Armed Forces Day First Sunday of Advent Patriot's Day
Aviation Day Flag Day Prayer Day
Beginning of Autumn Grandparent's Day President's Day
Beginning of Spring Ground-hog Day Remembrance (Canada)
Beginning of Summer Halloween Secretaries' Day
Beginning of Winter Inauguration Day St. Patrick's Day
Black History Week Independence Day Standard Time returns
Boss Day Kids Day Susan B. Anthony Day
Child Health Day Kwanza Sweetest Day
Christmas Day Labor Day Thanksgiving (Canada)
Christmas Eve Law Day Thanksgiving Day
Cinco de Mayo Lincoln's Birthday United Nation's Day
Citizenship Day Maritime Day Valentine's Day
Columbus Day Martin L. King Day Veteran's Day
Daylight Savings Time May Day Victoria Day (Canada)
Dominion Day (Canada) Memorial Day Washington's Birthday
Earth Day Mexican Independence Women's Equality Day
Election Day Mother's Day World Health Day
Epiphany Mother-in-law Day World Literacy Day
Equal Opportunity Day Native American Day
PROPOSED FUTURE ENHANCEMENTS:
Assuming enough people register CompuClock to cover the time invested, I
plan on releasing updates often. Some enhancements I plan to put in are:
- Additional holidays.
- Additional user definable colors.
- Configurable screen fonts.
- Ability to show time in other time zones.
- TSR or Standalone modes
- Optionally dial modem to obtain and set correct date/time.
- Ability to add your own holidays, anniversaries, and special occasions.
- Memos, to-do lists, and appointments.
- Optional TSR or stand alone alarm clock for appointments and events.
- Optional VGA remapable color and graphics.
- Miniature almanac.
- Conversion of measuring units, temperature, and foreign currency.
- Built in calculator.
- Improved sound, configurable beeps/tones, and sound card support.
- Mouse and printer support.
I'm looking for more user input regarding enhancements. I'm also very
interested in any bugs that you might encounter, or if there are any
monitors/cards that CompuClock has trouble with.
