Labels:text | newspaper | font | black and white | white OCR: Chinese To Raise Funds For Nippon Gesture Of Loyalty And Sincerity CHINESE in Malaya are making great efforts to raise funds for the Nip- ponese administration in order to show their loyalty and sincerity in co- operating with the Nipponese Govern- ment. A representative body. comprising of all Chinese Associations in Syonan. has been formed to collect funds from the Chinese community in the Island. The necessary investigations have been made by the committee in res- pect to individual properties and busi- nesses. The two Nipponese banks in Syonan -Yokohama Specie Bank and the Bank of Taiwan-have kindly agreed to re- ceive these donations from the Chin- ese individuals and firms. All dona- tions are expected to be paid in not later than April 14. It has been decided by the commit- tee that for the time being all Chinese with properties valued at $3,000 and upwards should contribute 8 per cent of their value. It has been arranged that members of the Fukien. Cantonese and Hainan- ese Associations should hand their con- tributions at the Bank of Taiwan while donations by the Teachew, Kheh and Straits Born Chinese Association and other associations are to be paid at the Yokohama Specle Bank,
