The toll and suffering now is o'er The centuries of slavery, And Asia shall be bled no more By the white oppressor's knavery. The Eastern world now breathes again Freed from the tiger's rending claw To teach that suffering is not vain, To vindicate eternal law Great Asia's millions shall like friends Build bravely without any fear, A world in which their genius blends To make a nobler hemisphere. Where each shall take his rightful pince According to the service done, Where creed and colour, caste and race, Shall melt like snow before the sun. The virile genius of Japan With China's patient Industry Shall like a great bridge westwards span To India, land of mystery.
