War came to Malaya on 8 December 1941. Japanese aggression forces invaded and overran the Malay Peninsula at terrifying speed. Their goal - the "Impregnable Fortress," "The Gibraltar of the East" - Singapore. After a mere 70 days into the Malayan Campaign, Singapore was in their sights.  And after another 7 days, Singapore was in their grasp... ^^^
