The incredibly long bones of its fourth fingers formed most of the leading edge of each fragile skin wing, which was probably stiffened by fibers. This flying giant needed plenty of flat ground for landings and take-offs, and perhaps breezes or rising air currents to give its wings lift. Soaring out over the sea, it skimmed the waves; now and then dipping its long, toothless beak under the surface to snatch up a fish.
