OCR: (1858-1947) MAX KARL ERNST LUDWIG PLANCK was a German scientist who worked in a branch of physics called thermodynamics, which is concerned with the interrelations of heat with other forms of energy. His work led to the development of quantum theory, which describes radiation in terms of packets of energy instead of waves. Planck's Constant relates the energy of a packet, or quantum, of radiation to the frequency of the radiation.
