OCR: FRED HOYLE FRED HOYLE is a British astronomer who has solved, or helped to solve, many of the main issues of 20th-century astronomy, and has stimulated other scientists in their research. Hoyle is frequently mentioned as an early source of inspiration by many of today's astronomers. He is known to scientists for his explanation of the origin of elements from hydrogen inside evolving stars, a process called nucleosynthesis. He is more popularly remembered, however, for his Steady-State theory of the Universe. (1915-) A-7. SEE LIFE NEXT ALSO STORY
