He then starts work as a private astronomer at the University of Copenhagen Observatory and the Urania Observatory at Frederiksberg. 1905-07 Hertzsprung is interested in the use of photographic techniques in astronomy. He publishes two papers in a photographic journal where he describes the absolute magnitude and the color of a star.
