OCR: 1750 Born on March 16 in Hanover, Germany. 1772 Her brother, William Herschel, brings her to Bath, England, from Germany. 1782 William is appointed Astronomer to King George III and so they move to Windsor, Berkshire, England, to be near the king at Windsor Castle. 1783 She starts observing the night sky on her own account rather than assisting William. She discovers three nebulas. 1786 April, moves with William to Slough, Berkshire, from where she continues to observe the night sky, discovering eight comets over the next 11 years. 1787 King George III grants her £50 a year to assist her brother William. 1798 The Royal Society, London, publishes her star catalogs. 1822 William Herschel dies. Caroline returns to Hanover. Now in her seventies, she works on the catalog of nebulas observed by ...
