Some scientists have suggested that this process could be started on Venus by "seeding" the atmosphere with plant spores. Doubts have been raised over whether any life form from Earth could survive in Venusian temperatures. But, in theory, the spores would absorb carbon dioxide from the atmosphere and release oxygen by photosynthesis. This would set in motion a chain of events that might lead to conditions more suitable for supporting life as we know it.
