OCR: FIRST SPACE WALK ALEKSEY LEONOV, one of two cosmonauts on Voskhod 2, was the first person to leave a spacecraft and "walk" in space. On March Voskhod 2 18, 1965, Leonov prepared himself in the capsule craft's inflatable airlock He then entered space to spend 10 minutes there. Leonov had difficulty getting Cosmonauts back into the airlock as his suit had expanded; he cccp A WALK ABOVE struggled for 8 minutes THE WORLD to get back inside. The inflatable airlock through which Leonov left Voskhod 2 was operated by his fellow SPACE WALKER cosmonaut, Belyayev, who Leonov was remained inside the capsule. tethered to the Voskhod 2.
