──────────────────────> A brief overview of 514 :
Over the past few months, the hacking world for has come to a screeching
halt. This stop may have resulted from the fact that major hacking groups have
died away in our small area of the world, or the fact that people have
abandoned hacking for the more challenging arts of phreaking and network
abuse. However, not leaving this evolution of the ways unnoticed, [NuKE] has
evolved into a general group, no longer focussing only on hacking, but
encompassing all of the underground arts...
By the way, a lot of people have asked us what [NuKE] means. To them I answer:
- Nothing, [NuKE] means what it says, [NuKE]. We have decided to forget the
cliche three letter acronyms and go with something that reflects are goals
and attitude.
NOTE: Everything in this Infojournal has to do with 514, because that's where
we are located. A few subjects might extend to other areas since we have
members and sites there, but I don't want someone from 516 or 303 saying
"Hey, you're full of bull, hacking's strong here...". Except for 514, I
know nothing, and I don't care...
With that out of the way, I can resume with my little synopsis of the
computer underground.
Wathever the reason for the stop in hacking, some people have taken it upon
themselves to rekindle the old hacking frenzy, whether it's through the
creation of small hacking groups (which have no future, and are just spin-offs
of the originals), or through the creation of anti-hacker groups (which are
even worse than the former) that, to compensate for there lack of skills,
threaten hackers with legal action. Well before this goes any further, I have
a message to send out to all these anti-hackers:
- First of all, all of you are wanna be hackers who never made it far because
you know nothing. You might see yourselves as the only barrier against
hackers, but hacking isn't a disease and it will take more than a group
acting as a condom to stop it. The only thing that can stop a hacker is a
smarter hacker, thus there is no purpose for you, and there is as much truth
about your legal threats as there is truth about your usefulness to the
computer world. So take what is left of your dignity and get out, because
anyone will tell you that a anti-hacker board will go down much faster than a
hacking support board.
Also during the past few months, the 514 area has been plunged into a
mayhem referred to as group madness. It seems that everyone in the computer
world has to find a way to distinguish themselves. Some open boards that they
call "Elite" within two hours of it's opening. It seem's to me that you don't
call yourself Elite until a real Elite does so first. Well that's just my
opinion. Others, saddly the majority, find a group to join or, even worse,
create one. It looks to me like these people think that groups will bring
them power (you're wrong) and that not being in a group is lame. Let me just
say it's this kind of thinking that causes groups to spring out of nowhere and
die out a few months later. It seems a lot of people just can't resist having
two or three acronyms under that alias. Anyways my personal experience has
been, if you want to join a group, find out what you're getting into, and
please, stick with this group and try to make it grow and expand, and for
God's sake, if you ever get thrown out of a group, please don't create another
one who's only purpose is to destroy the first one.
Anyways with the start of the academic year, new groups will be sprouting
up everywhere.
Well now that I've wasted you're time with all this I'll let you keep on
with this infojournal.
