This bidirectional beam antenna has the intriguing property of having a null
overhead, like a vertical antenna, no matter how low to the ground it is
mounted. It can thus be used to reduce QRM on 75 meters from high angle local
signals without incurring the problems of grounded vertical antennas (ground
losses, extensive radial systems, local groundwave response). Compare the
elevation pattern of this antenna with that of a dipole at 50 feet.
