  13. This antenna takes advantage of the increased gain possible with narrowband
  14. designs.  Instead of spreading the gain over a wide bandwidth, as is necessary
  15. on 15 or 20 meters, all the gain potential is concentrated at one frequency by
  16. shortening the reflector and lengthening the directors.  This technique cannot
  17. be used everywhere, but for certain applications, such as in the narrow 12
  18. meter band or weak signal work at 144.200 MHz, the gain increase can be
  19. significant over wideband designs simply frequency-scaled to a narrow band.
