As his third labour the hero had to capture a sacred hind of Artemis, that had hooves of bronze and horns of gold. Heracles captured it with a net, but while he carried it to Euristheus, he met Apoll and Artemis who reproved him. Artemis allowed him to take the hind to Euristheus after which he was to let it go.
