This great group of gods which protected many human activities, however did not create man. Actually, Zeus was very irritated when the first man was created by the titan Prometheus. Prometheus had modelled a figure with mud that resembled the gods, giving him the possibility to look at Heaven walking erect. This god gave man fire, stealing it from the gods, and taught man to cook food, to make heat, and forge metal. For this theft Zeus chained Prometheus to a rock on Caucasus where a vulture ate his regenerating liver.
