DESCR.TXT for Neil R. Bonner, now a DOOM Master
-----------------------------------------------
exam completed on 29 August 1994
Challenge
---------
My DOOM MASTER challenge was to complete E1M4, E2M8, E3M5.
I substituted E3M1, E3M2, and E3M8 for E3M5. The reason for doing so
is that I was unable to do E3M5 in less than 15 minutes.
Version of DOOM Used
--------------------
All of my LMP's were recorded using version 1.2.
Comments
--------
E1M4: Pretty basic stuff here, nothing too spectacular to note.
E2M8: This is a cool recording! I finish off the 20 lost souls and then
hunt down the Cyberdemon without taking a hit from any of those hellspawned
creatures. (I took a hit once from a rocket that I fired too close to a
wall).
E3M1: This wasn't too hard.
E3M2: This a good recording. Lot's of action! My strategy on this
level is to get the berzerk pack and punch my way out of trouble!
E3M8: With a few rockets remaining and 8% health I take out the
Spiderdemon!
FREE: My free interpretation LMP is of E2M9. Why do I feel this is good
and shows style? Well for one, it can be a darn hard level if you don't
use your wits. Basically, I get the monsters to fight each other and
then I finish off the stragglers. In this recording I don't take any
damage from any of the demons except at the very end with only 1 baron
left-- and the fight was over by then. This is a cool demo for those
who haven't seen this level completed.
Controls Used
-------------
I use a Microsoft mouse and keyboard. I use the default , and . as the
strafe keys and I redefine the right mouse button as the, Move Forward,
button.
System Used
-----------
I have a 486DX/2-66 MHz PC with a Diamond SpeedStar PRO VLB graphics card.
8 MB of RAM, 3Com 3C503 Ethernet card, and a SoundBlaster 16 SCSI-2
sound card. I get a 3D Bench score of: 47.6.
Enjoy the demo's and let me know what you think.
