- 1. Introduction
- ---------------
-
- Thank you for trying Wiggle, a new version of the classic snake game for
- the Palm Pilot. The classic snake game has been around for years with
- many different versions on every platform mentionable, here is my attempt
- at a version of that game. Hope you enjoy it!
-
-
- 2. Installation and Use
- -----------------------
-
- Once you have downloaded and unpacked the archive you should have a file
- called Wiggle.prc in your directory. Install this file onto your Palm
- Pilot in the usual way using the 'Install Tool' or similar which comes
- with the Palm Pilot. Once installed an icon with the label 'Wiggle'
- should appear in your application list.
-
- When you start the game your snake begins to move. Use the page up and
- page down keys on your Palm Pilot to control the snake. Pressing page up
- turns the snake anti-clockwise and the page down key turns the snake
- clockwise. You need to move the snake to collect apples which increase
- your score. On the right of the display you can see your score, your
- current level and the number of apples left that you need to eat before
- you will move onto the next level. There are ten different levels, but
- once these have been completed they are repeated but this time your
- snake will travel faster.
-
- Most of the levels include obstacles that you must avoid aswell as
- yourself and the outside walls. If you get a new high score then you
- will be prompted to enter your name for the high score table.
-
- Using the program menus, you can start a new game, look at high scores
- and select the speed setting. There are three different speed settings,
- beginner, intermediate and expert, and there is a different high score
- for each of the speeds.
-
- Have fun and happy wiggling!
-
-
- 3. New Versions
- ---------------
-
- The newest version of Wiggle will always be available from my website:
-
- http://www.matt.oaktree.co.uk/computing/wiggle.shtml
-
- so check back there from time to time to look out for updates. Also from
- the same web page you can submit your email address so that you will be
- automatically sent an email when new versions become available.
-
-
- 4. Bug Reports
- --------------
-
- This is one of the first programs which I've written for the Palm Pilot
- so there could well be plenty of bugs hiding in there somewhere... If
- you find any faults in either the application itself or its documentation
- then I would be really grateful if you could report them to me by email at
- matt.marsh@bigfoot.com. If you could include the version number of the
- program you are running (this can be found from the 'About' dialog box)
- then that would also be helpful.
-
-
- 5. Distribution and Usage Policy
- --------------------------------
-
- You are permitted to use this program free of charge. You may also
- distribute it in any way and may even charge for it's distribution if
- you wish, however you must not modify the software and all copyright
- notices must remain in tact. You must obtain written permission for use
- or distribution other than detailed here.
-
- BECAUSE THE PROGRAM IS LICENSED FREE OF CHARGE, THERE IS NO WARRANTY

- PARTIES PROVIDE THE PROGRAM "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND,

- PURPOSE. THE ENTIRE RISK AS TO THE QUALITY AND PERFORMANCE OF THE
- PROGRAM IS WITH YOU. SHOULD THE PROGRAM PROVE DEFECTIVE, YOU ASSUME

-
- IN NO EVENT UNLESS REQUIRED BY APPLICABLE LAW OR AGREED TO IN WRITING
- WILL ANY COPYRIGHT HOLDER, OR ANY OTHER PARTY WHO MAY MODIFY AND/OR

- DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF THE USE OR INABILITY TO USE THE PROGRAM
- (INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF DATA OR DATA BEING RENDERED
- INACCURATE OR LOSSES SUSTAINED BY YOU OR THIRD PARTIES OR A FAILURE
- OF THE PROGRAM TO OPERATE WITH ANY OTHER PROGRAMS), EVEN IF SUCH
- HOLDER OR OTHER PARTY HAS BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH
- DAMAGES.

- Special thanks have to go to Riikka Teikari for helping me lots with the
