Recommended configuration: Pentium133, 32 MB of RAM, High or True color.

1) INTRODUCTION
La Fonta shows 3D-beveled text messages. Customize text, fonts, colors, bevels, lighting, and motion type to create your own fancy logos. La Fonta has an ability to communicate with painting programs via Clipboard. It can be used as a quick & dirty logo creation add-on to painting software.
2) INSTALL/UNINSTALL
Run SetupLF.exe to install. Installation requires 135-192 kb of free space in Windows folder. Uninstall the program using "Control Panel"-"Add/Remove Programs".
3) CREATING LOGOS
Creating a logo is a simple three-step process:
1) Open Designer tab, type your text, choose font face and size. Choose colors for type and background.
2) Move sliders to achieve required 3D effect. If necessary, set positions of highlights by Shift | Ctrl - left mouse clicks in the preview pane.
3) Press the right mouse button over the preview pane. Choose Paste from the drop-down menu to export your job to the clipboard or Save to store in a BMP file on disk.
Rendering images from other painting programs:
1) Prepare a colorful logo in your painting program. Copy the bitmap to clipboard (Edit-Copy). The top left pixel of your image defines background color. All pixels having that color will be rendered at zero level. All other pixels will be raised.
2) In La Fonta press the right mouse button over the preview pane and select Paste from the drop-down menu. The logo will be rendered to 3D and shown in the preview. Move sliders and adjust position of highlights to achieve required effect. Large pictures are shown partially, but the entire image is rendered to 3D.
3) Press the right mouse button over the preview to save your job to the clipboard or to a BMP file.
La Fonta takes use of Microsoft font smoothing technology.
Limitations: width of exported logos has a limit of 2000 pixels max. Imported images are cropped to maximum allowed size of 640x480 pixels. It is not recommended to run La Fonta in 256 colors.
4) CONFIGURING THE SCREENSAVER
To configure the screensaver:
1) Open La Fonta, Screensaver dialog
2) Select the type of message motion or "Auto" for random selection in the full-screen mode
3) Select delay in seconds between subsequent changes of messages and backgrounds
4) Select font color. Two options are available: fixed color as in designer or random selection.
5) Select background type. Four options are available: fixed color as in Designer, arbitrary color, black background and keep desktop. The last one does not erase the desktop and shows messages just over it. Note: the last option is not available in Windows NT.
6) Press OK to save settings, Cancel to abort changes, Help to open this page.
Screensaver uses the following settings from the Designer configuration screen: message text, font characteristics, 3D options, colors (if applicable) and positions of highlights.

- changes have been made according to the suggestions of a ZDNet reviewer:
1) corrected behaviour of the font size edit box;
2) full size copy/save of logos up to 2000 pixels wide.
v.1.01 ( April 24, 1999) - fixed the "runtime error 216 at 00BD05" - when the screensaver/preview aborts with certain combinations of user defined text and font parameters.
