This is a game in which the object is to find a "HURKLE", a mythical beast,
that is hiding in a 15 by 15 grid. You are allowed 4 guesses to find it.
To play the game, just log to the drive (and directory, if applicable) and
enter:
HURKLE
at the system prompt.
The grid is numbered from 1 on the West edge to 15 on the East edge; and from
1 on the North edge to 15 on the South edge. For each guess, the program will
request that you position the cursor in the grid using the cursor keys (Note:
the computer must NOT be in numeric shift.) If you try to move the cursor
outside the grid, the computer will beep a warning and the cursor will not
move. If that happens, move the cursor in some other direction. When you
have positioned the cursor for the current guess, press the ENTER key. After
each guess, the guess number will be displayed at the guessed location in the
grid. If you guess the exact location, a flashing asterisk, '*', will be
displayed, the phrase, "YOU WIN!!!" will appear at the bottom of the screen,
and you will be asked if you wish to play again. The program places the
"HURKLE" at a different place in the grid each time the game is started. For
each guess, except the first, the program gives the player a hint on which
direction to move for the next guess to locate the "HURKLE".
See the file HURKLE2.DOC for hints on how to win this game.
