  30. A tetris variant with 4 difficulty levels and 49 unique blocks. Each of the
  31. harder difficulty levels add more block shapes. Use the arrow keys to move, 
  32. rotate and flip the blocks as they fall from the top of the playing field. 
  33. When the blocks form complete rows, the rows are removed and the blocks from
  34. above fall to take their place.
  35. Use bombs to remove blocks.  With enough points you can CANCEL a troublesome 
  36. block or do a 'TOP SWEEP' to remove the top 4 rows.  TOP-10 scores are 
  37. maintained for each difficulty level. Sound Blaster support. Win 3.1 or 95.

  39. LONG DESCRIPTION:
  40. Block Drop v2.1 is one of Monty's Games from MG Software.  This Windows game
  41. is a one player game of strategy.  It has some similarities to tetris, but
  42. with 49 unique blocks, it is more mentally challenging.  It is one of the
  43. more interesting variations on the tetris theme.  When things get tough you
  44. will need to take your time, so you can easily pause the game at any time.
  45.  
  46. As blocks fall from the top of the playing field, you must rotate and flip 
  47. them into position so they fill rows at the bottom. Filled rows are removed 
  48. and blocks from above fall. You can pause the game at any time, and you will 
  49. need to pause it in order to study the layout of the playing field.  You will 
  50. need to think about the placement of the blocks, especially for the harder 
  51. difficulty levels.

  53. You can listen to any of 6 different classical works by composers such as
  54. Bach, Beethoven, Tchaikovsky and Liszt.
  55.  
  56. There are 4 levels of difficulty, the hardest level has 49 unique blocks.
  57. Some of these blocks have very interesting shapes and will challenge your
  58. game playing abilities.  To be successful you will need to think ahead. If
  59. you turn on 'CISCOS CAVE' you will be shown the 'next block', but you will
  60. earn half the points while 'CISCOS CAVE' is on.

  62. As you collect points you will earn 'BOMBS' and 'CANCELS'. With 1 'BOMB' you
  63. can drop a bomb anywhere on the playing field to remove a block.  With 1
  64. 'CANCEL' you can cancel the current block and move on to the next one.  If
  65. you have a total of 5 BOMBS and/or CANCELS you can do a 'top sweep' to remove
  66. the top 4 rows in the playing field.

  68. While playing the HARD difficulty level, I can only earn about 30,000 points
  69. maximum. My friend Larry has passed the 1 million point level, but only after
  70. playing the game regularly for several weeks.  There is a technique of block
  71. placement that you will figure out if you keep at it.

  73. This game is shareware, but the registration is only $5.00.  This is one of
  74. the better games of its type, so download it today.

  118. The Freeman-Teressa Installer is used to install this game. The game can be
  119. uninstalled from the "Remove.." icon in the "Monty's Games for Windows" group.
