  20.     1. Game status
  21.        2 Hooked! is shareware. You may install this program to 
  22.        test and evaluate it; after that you must either register 
  23.        this program or delete it from your  computer hard drive 
  24.        and other  storage  devices. (see "license.txt" file  for 
  25.        details). To register online you may visit

  28.        registration form (USorder.txt, AUSorder.txt or UKorder.txt).

  34.     2. Brief description
  35.        2 Hooked! is classic arcade worm-like game. You have different 
  36.        modes to play: four skill levels, Custom mode and DeathMatch. 
  37.        On standart modes your task is very simple: just try to not hit
  38.        anybody or walls and eat an apples to grow up
  39.

  41.     3. Installation
  42.        For playing 2 Hooked! you must have Comic Sans MS fonts 
  43.        installed on your PC. If you havn't it installed, just copy
  44.        files COMIC.TTF and COMICBD.TTF into your WINDOWS\FONTS
  45.        directory (included).

  48.     4. Playing single game
  49.        When you start the game first time you must create your 
  50.        account - simple click <Change User> in main menu. Enter your 
  51.        name and press <Enter>. Now you are the current user, your 
  52.        name will be shown in main screen.

  54.        This name will be used for your statistic. When you start the 
  55.        game next time you may not enter your name - the game remember 
  56.        last user.
  57.  
  58.        To create new account just click <Change User> again and enter 
  59.        desired name. This user become 'current user'. All statistics 
  60.        will be counted for him. To change 'current user' simple 
  61.        <Change User>.

  64.     5. Playing DeathMatch
  65.        On DeathMatch you play against you friend - just eat the apples 
  66.        of your color and ... don't die and help to die to your friend.

  68.        To play DeathMatch simple click <DeathMatch> in main menu. 
  69.        The first player is yellow worm and the second is aqua. Just 
  70.        eat the apples of your color to grow up. When you die your 
  71.        friend get a score. So be patient.

  74.     6. Movement keys
  75.        The standart movement keys for single player game is UP, RIGHT, 
  76.        LEFT, DOWN keys. To change them simple click <Controls> in main 
  77.        menu. To change the key just click on desired box and press 
  78.        desired key.

  80.        To play DeathMatch select keys for first and second player just 
  81.        clicking on desired box.

  83.        Pause key: 'Pause Break' key. Music ON/OFF: F1/F2.

  86.     7. Skill levels
  87.        The game has four predefined skill levels: Beginner, Amateur, 
  88.        Professional and Master, and custom level. Each of standart 
  89.        levels has it's own parametres:

  91.            CPU worms: it's just how many alien worms will help you to 
  92.                       die. The more CPU worms - the more difficalt to 
  93.                       play.
  94.  
  95.       Timer Interval: it's the timer intervals between game turns. The 
  96.                       more interval - the more easy to play.
  97.  
  98.     Turn probability: it's the probability of the turning of the CPU 
  99.                       worm. The more probability - the more ... 
  100.                       I don't know, try yourself.

  102.        You may play Custom skill level - on that level you choose all 
  103.        parametres by yourself. On this level there is no any
  104.        statistics.

  106.        To change current skill level simple click <Settings> in main 
  107.        menu and select desired skill level.

  110.     8. Rating System
  111.        2 Hooked! has great statistic system for you to play again and 
  112.        again to make it better. Each user that has it's own account has 
  113.        different statistic for all four skill levels. To see current 
  114.        statistic just click <Statistics> in main menu.

  116.        Each user on each skill level (except Custom level) has this 
  117.        parametres:
  118.  
  119.            Games: this is how many games this player have played on 
  120.                   that skill level.
  121.  
  122.            Eaten: it's how many apples this player have eaten on that 
  123.                   skill level in summary.
  124.  
  125.          Average: it's average number of apples user have been eaten 
  126.                   each game. This parameter calculated very simple: 
  127.                   Eaten / Games.
  128.  
  129.          HiScore: this is the greatest result user have ever scored.
  130.  
  131.        In the game screen you may see all this parametres of current 
  132.        user on current skill level. Also you may see one more parameter 
  133.        under the Average - it's just how your Average will change if 
  134.        you die right now.

  136.        On the upper right corner of the game screen you may see the 
  137.        absolutely High Score for this skill level.
  138.  
  139.        All this parametres are saved in file 'stat.dat' in your 
  140.        2 Hooked! installation directory. You may take part in Global 
  141.        Rating - simple e-mail this file to the author:

  143.        with subject 'stat'.

  145.        All this results will be posted on http://www.chat.ru/~sud.

  147.     9. Shareware limitations
  148.        2 Hooked! is shareware so before you register it you will only 
  149.        have:
  150.  
  151.            The only available modes to play is Amateur skill level and 
  152.            DeathMatch, every 3 minutes of gameplay you will get 
  153.            ordering screen,  you can not get more than 30 score, you 
  154.            can't take part in Global Rating sending us your stat file.
  155.  
  156.        After you register you will get all modes available to play, all 
  157.        nag screens will be removed, you may send us your stat file for 
  158.        Global Rating, you will get full support, free future updates 
  159.        and new versions of 2 Hooked!
