  14. Smoke'em Poker is a freeware game of five-cardádrawápoker.
  15. You play against up to 5 opponents simulated by the computer.

  23. Installation:
  24. =============
  25. 1. If you received this program as a zip file (e.g. SEPKR19.ZIP),
  26.    do the following (if not, skip to step 2):
  27.    - Create a temporary folder on your hard disk.
  28.    - Move the zip file into that folder.
  29.    - Unzip it.
  30.      Assuming that you have PKUNZIP in your path, you would type:
  31.      PKUNZIP SEPKR19.ZIP
  32.      
  33. 2. Run SETUP.EXE.
  34.    This starts the installation program. It will install the
  35.    necessary files onto your hard disk (in a folder of your choice),
  36.    and will create the appropriate icons in the Program Manager
  37.    (or in the Start menu in Windows 95).

  39. 3. If you unzipped the file (in step 1), you can then delete the
  40.    temporary folder that you created.
  41.  
  42. Note: Smoke'em Poker installs to a new folder by default (SEPKR19)
  43.       and creates a new program group (Smoke'em Poker 1.9), so it
  44.       won't affect any earlier versions that you may have installed.
  45.       After satisfying yourself that 1.9 works OK, you should
  46.       remove any earlier version(s).

  49. Playing The Game:
  50. =================
  51. Once you've started the game, click "Options" to change the game settings.
  52. Note that some options take effect immediately, while others don't apply
  53. until a new game is started.
  54.  
  55. You can start a new game at any time by clicking the "New Game" button.
  56.  
  57. Each hand of five-card draw proceeds as follows:
  58. - ante and dealing
  59. - opening bets (no minimum hand to open)
  60. - discarding cards (1 discard of up to 3 cards)
  61. - closing bets
  62. - the showdown (where you win, lose, or tie)
  63.  
  64. All standard poker hands are allowed, including ace-low straights
  65. (A-2-3-4-5). Check-raisingá(sandbagging) can be prohibited.
  66. If a computer player runsáout ofámoney, they're out of the game.
  67. If you run out of money, you can end the game or "Watch" the other
  68. players continue.
  69. At any time, you can view statistics andágraphs for the current
  70. game, and odds for the current hand.
