Before designing your board note that a <IT>Koohg</IT> configuration consists of <BD>Cells</BD> and <BD>Pieces</BD>. A cell can have several possible identities:
(i) <IT>background</IT> - outside the playing area. Can be represented as a dark pattern or as a solid color.
(ii) <IT>empty</IT> - connects areas of the board together although not a target destination for any player. Can be represented as a light pattern or as a solid color.
(iii) <IT>destination</IT> - target for a particular player for attaining a winning status (usually represented in matching colors):
<UL>Cell</UL> <UL>Destination Player</UL>
Blue Player A
Red Player B
Green Player C
Yellow Player D
A <IT>Koohg</IT> configuration can be symmetric or asymmetric. Equal starting positions for all players are recommended for fair play (otherwise players will have positional advantage or disadvantage with respect to other competitors).
In Edit mode <IT>Koohg</IT> window extends to the right displaying the Cell & Piece pallette. Additionally, the grid will become visible identifying the relative location of the available cells. <BD>Cut</BD>, <BD>Copy</BD>, <BD>Paste</BD> and <BD>Clear Board</BD> commands become active in Edit mode facilitating quick board design.
Adding pieces or cells to the board is achieved by dragging an object from the pallette and dropping it onto a board location. Start the design by positioning visible cells and then position pieces on top. Cells can be "erased" by positioning background cells on top.
To repeat a board pattern select a group of cells and then copy and paste them elsewhere. To select individual cells as a group press the Control Key and mouse click on the particular cells you wish to select. To deselect a cell from the group hold down the Control Key and mouse click on the relevant cells.
To select a rectangular group of cells click once on a board cell that defines one edge of a desired rectangular shape, then hold down the Shift Key and mouse click on the opposite edge of the rectangular shape. Selected cells are highlighted.
For more information about the <BD>Cut</BD>, <BD>Copy</BD>, <BD>Paste</BD> and <BD>Clear Board</BD> commands see the relevant Help entries.
When you have finished designing a board configuration choose <BD>Set Board</BD> from the <BD>Edit</BD> Menu. The Configuration Editor will check the new configuration format in order to ensure proper functionality, however it is the designer's responsibility to establish equal spatial standing for all players.
In the event that the configuration is not valid the Configuration Editor will suggest ways for correcting the problem.
Alternatively you will be asked to name the new configuration(".brd" file) in a standard Save dialog for further reference. <BD><COL=PURPLE>Make sure that the board configuration you have just modified is saved to the correct folder<COL=BLACK></BD>, i.e, "Boards4" or "Boards2" depending on the number of players. Thereafter Koohg's window shrinks back to the original size and stands ready to play in the new world you have just created.
