This option is used to learn how to tell the time.
"
Time Now
Click this button to display the current time. The program now acts like a real clock, with a second hand. Click the clockface to hear the time spoken.
"
Random Time
Click this button to display a random time. Hear the time spoken by clicking on the clockface. This option can be set at basic, intermediate or higher levels (see 'level', below).
"
GAME
Test your ability to tell the time. A time is spoken out loud and you must keep clicking the clockface until this time is displayed. Then click OK. Points are scored for every correct answer - 3, 4 or 5 points each, depending on the level. One point is lost for each wrong time selected. But when the red bug is visible on screen, all points scored are doubled. The aim is to score as many points as possible in the time allowed. Highest scores can be entered into a 'Hall of Fame'.
For extra speed, use the keyboard: press the spacebar to change the time and press 'Enter' for correct answers.
"
Clock Face
If you select this option from the menu bar, you can choose from 4 different clock faces: normal numbers, Roman numerals, 24 hour clock or no numbers. In addition, if you select 'Outer Help Numbers', the minutes past the hour will be displayed around the clock face. Outer help numbers are not available during a game.
"
Level
Times can be displayed at 3 levels of difficulty: basic (whole hourls only), intermediate (quarter hour intervals), and higher (5 minute intervals). Only the 'basic' level is available in the unregistered version. However, the level does not affect the 'Time Now' option, which always gives the exact time (according to your computer).
