  105. ===== Installation =====================================

  107. Because Crossdown is a Windows application, the installation procedure
  108. is quite simple.  The package includes the file, "SETUP.EXE", which
  109. automates the entire process.  You will need about 2MB of available disk
  110. space on the hard drive on which you plan to install Crossdown.
  111.  
  112. The exact steps you need to take will depend on how you received
  113. Crossdown.
  114.  
  115. INSTALLING FROM DISKETTE
  116.  
  117. To install from diskette, you need to perform the following steps.
  118.  
  119.    o  Place Crossdown distribution diskette in the appropriate
  120.       diskette drive.
  121.  
  122.    o  From the Windows 95 desktop, select START, then select SETTINGS.
  123.       Then select CONTROL PANEL. Then select ADD/REMOVE PROGRAMS.
  124.       From the ADD/REMOVE PROGRAMS dialog box, click on INSTALL.

  126.    o  Follow the instructions presented by the installation program.

  128. INSTALLING FROM A HARD DRIVE

  130. If you downloaded Crossdown from a BBS (or received it in the form of
  131. archive files from some other source), you will need to perform the
  132. following steps.

  134.    o  Extract the contents of the archive file(s) in a temporary
  135.       directory on your hard drive.  The procedure for doing this
  136.       varies, depending on the form in which you received the package.
  137.       In all likelihood, the fact that you are reading this text means
  138.       that you already have the necessary tools and knowledge to
  139.       perform this step.  If not, you should be able to obtain
  140.       directions for this from the same source from which you received
  141.       the package.

  143.    o  From the Windows 95 Menu, select START, then select SETTINGS.
