  53. System Requirements
  54. Sir Hangman requires a 386/486 CPU, Windows 3.1 or later, a hard disk
  55. and mouse, plus a minimum of 2 MB of RAM and 4 MB of hard disk space,
  56. and VGA or better graphics

  59. LICENSE INFORMATION
  60. Thank you for trying Sir Hangman and for using shareware. Shareware is
  61. an excellent way for you to test new programs without paying for them in
  62. advance.  However, shareware software is not free. After testing the
  63. program, you're required to pay for it and register if you continue to
  64. use it. By paying for the shareware programs you use, you help keep
  65. this company and other companies alive and creating software you can try
  66. before you buy. Please register all shareware programs you use
  67. regularly!

  69. This is the unregistered version of Sir Hangman 1.0.  Sir Hangman is a
  70. shareware program.  You may try this copy of the program for a period
  71. not to exceed 30 days to determine whether or not it is suitable for
  72. your needs. After that time, if you continue to use the program,
  73. you must register your copy with the author. To register, use the
  74. "Registration" command in the "Help" menu to fill out and print the
  75. registration form. The Registration fee for this program is $20 plus SH.

  77. Limitations-The shareware version of Sir Hangman has a registration
  78. reminder screen that displays at startup after the 30 day evaluation has
  79. expired.  In addition, there is only four subject dictionaries with 300
  80. words and phrases.  The registered version contains 12 subjects with
  81. over 1000 words and phrases.  However, even with the un-registered
  82. version you can create your own subject files using the "Edit or Create"
  83. menu option.

  85. You can also register with a Visa or MasterCard by calling Psl at (800)
  86. 242-4775 and request product #14358. All orders incur a $4 U.S. ($6
  87. outside U.S.) shipping and handling fee for each order, regardless of
  88. how many programs are ordered. Ssorg Software programs may also be
  89. registered on CompuServe in the SWREG forum. Registrations will be
  90. charged to your CompuServe account.

  129. INSTALLATION
  130.  
  131. 1.  If Windows is not running, start it. Then, from the Program Manager,
  132.     click on Run under the file menu.
  133.  
  134. 2.  Enter the drive and "Setup.exe" in the command line (i.e.
  135.     "A:\SETUP>EXE").
  136.  
  137. 3.  Press <Enter> or click OK to start the automatic installation.  You
  138.     will be prompted for all information required.
  139.  
  140. 4.  Once the program is installed you can click on "Sir Hangman Help"
  141.     for information on running the game.

  143. Un-installing Sir Hangman
  144. If you ever need to un-install Sir Hangman, simply click on the "Remove
  145. Sir Hangman" icon in the program group.  Please use caution when running
  146. this un-install, other programs installed after Sir Hangman may be using
  147. some of the same DLLs and VBXs as Sir Hangman.

  174. ===== Installation =====================================

  176. The installation procedure for Sir Hangman is quite simple.  The
  177. package includes a program, "SETUP.EXE", which automates the
  178. entire process.  You will need about 4 megs of available disk space
  179. on the hard drive on which you plan to install Sir Hangman.
  180.  
  181. The exact steps you need to take will depend on how you received
  182. Sir Hangman.
  183.

  185. INSTALLING FROM DISKETTES
  186.  
  187. To install from diskette, you need to perform the following steps.
  188.  
  189.    o  Place Sir Hangman distribution diskette in the
  190.       appropriate diskette drive.
  191.  
  192.    o  From the Windows Main Menu, select FILE, then select RUN. Enter
  193.       the drive and "setup.exe" into the run box. For example, if the
  194.       distribution diskette is on drive A:, type "a:SETUP.EXE".
  195.  
  196.    o  Follow the instructions presented by the installation program.
  197.       You will have a chance to approve installation before any changes
  198.       are actually made to the contents of your hard drive.  The
  199.       program will ask you for a destination directory, and will copy
  200.       the Sir Hangman files to that directory.

  203. INSTALLING FROM A HARD DRIVE

  205. If you downloaded Sir Hangman from a BBS (or received it in the form of
  206. archive files from some other source), you will need to perform the
  207. following steps.

  209.    o  Extract the contents of the archive file in a temporary
  210.       directory on your hard drive.  The procedure for doing this
  211.       varies, depending on the form in which you received the package.
  212.       In all likelihood, the fact that you are reading this text means
  213.       that you already have the necessary tools and knowledge to
  214.       perform this step.  If not, you should be able to obtain
  215.       directions for this from the same source from which you received
  216.       the package.

  218.    o  Execute the "SETUP.EXE" program which you have extracted.  For
  219.       example, if the temporary directory into which you have extracted
  220.       the Sir Hangman package is C:\TEMPDIR, you would execute the
  221.       command, "c:\tempdir\setup.exe" from Windows.

  223.    o  Follow the instructions presented by the installation program.
