  1. The boardgame WinPolis
  2.  
  3. The aim of the game WinPolis is to force your competitors through the cleverly 
  4. buying of shops and their extension into bankruptcy. 
  5. You pull across the board which consist of fields showing different business and 
  6. action fields. 
  7. As mentioned before, you may buy the shops to cash in from your competitors who 
  8. cross your field. If you own a chain of equal business e.g. all pharmacies, you may 
  9. also furnish those and employ staff or something similar which naturally pushes up 
  10. the value.

  12. The action fields have different meanings. E.g. you have to answer a question of 
  13. general knowledge if you land on such a field and you either can win or lose $3000. 
  14. On the casino field a round of Black Jack gets started whereby you also can win or 
  15. lose a lot of money.

  17. WinPolis can be played up to four players at the same time. 
  18. These may be either all human nature or computer driven partners. 
  19. Games can be stored and reloaded or put together by you.

  21. New features in the 32bit-version are:
  22.  
  23. The catastrophe function, which unleashes catastrophes for particular business chains 
  24. at unpredictable intervals. A catastrophe is devastating to the owner of a particular chain, 
  25. because he has to round up a heck of a lot of money to remedy the damages. 
  26. It can even happen that he loses all of the enhancements he has made to the chain or that 
  27. he has to sit out several rounds. 
  28. The only way to escape the devastation of catastrophes is to purchase insurance. 
  29. Whether and when it makes sense to do so can be found out on the new Oracle Square, 
  30. where there resides an oracle with the ability to prophesy future catastrophes.

  32. This new function adds a great deal of excitement to games, since one always has to be 
  33. careful not to be victimized by a catastrophe. But if this function bothers anyone, it can 
  34. be completely deactivated.
