  1. HOW TO PLAY BACKGAMMON DELUXE
  2.  
  3. There are many variations of the game of backgammon,
  4. Backgammon Deluxe is one variation. While classical
  5. backgammon starts with each player throwing one die
  6. to determine who goes first, Backgammon Deluxe allows
  7. the human player to start the game by clicking on
  8. either die.
  9.  
  10. Each player then throws, or clicks on a die in turn.
  11. A player moves his pieces according to the number on
  12. the dice, starting with the number on the left die
  13. then that of the right die.
  14.  
  15. A player may move one piece the whole of their turn,
  16. or move seperate pieces. If a player throws a double,
  17. meaning the same number on both die, then they move
  18. the number shown on one die four times. The player
  19. has the option of moving one piece, or seperate
  20. pieces.

  22. The human player's pieces move in a counter-clockwise
  23. direction, and the computer's pieces move in a
  24. clockwise direction.

  26. A board position is considered blocked if two or
  27. more opposing pieces are sitting at that position.
  28. For example, if you wish to move one position over
  29. and your opponent has two pieces at that position,
  30. an error message will be displayed letting you
  31. know that the move is an illegal move.

  33. You can however, move to a position in which your
  34. opponent has only one piece. This move sends your
  35. opponent to the center 'Bar'. On their next move,
  36. a player with a piece on the bar must use one of
  37. the die to re-enter the game starting at the first
  38. postion on the opposing side. If the player can
  39. not re-enter the piece on the bar, then they must
  40. pass.

  42. The ultimate goal of backgammon is to remove all
  43. of your playing pieces from the board. You can
  44. not remove pieces until all of your playing
  45. pieces are in your inner table (the bottom right
  46. conner). You remove pieces by moving the amount
  47. on the die roll greater than the number of board
  48. positions remaining. For exmaple, if a die shows
  49. three and you click on a piece with only two board
  50. postions remaining, that piece will be removed
  51. from the board and placed in the reserve area.

  53. The first player to remove all of their board
  54. pieces wins the game. Enjoy.
