  20.  **a. How to Play Hearts**

  23.         There are many variations of the game of Hearts,
  24.         Dirty Hearts is one variation.
  25.  
  26.         Each player is dealt 13 cards. The Player with the
  27.         2 of Clubs is the first to discard. Afterwards, play
  28.         continues around the board in a clockwise direction.
  29.  
  30.         The first card of each play is known as the trick
  31.         card. If possible, each player must discard a card
  32.         in the same suit as the trick card. If a player
  33.         no longer has a card of the trick suit, then the
  34.         player has the option of discarding a card from the
  35.         trump suit, or any other suit.
  36.  
  37.         The trump suit is the Heart suit, and a Heart card
  38.         can only be played after a player runs out of the
  39.         trick suit.
  40.  
  41.         In each round the player who discards the highest
  42.         card of the trick suit wins the hand. Each Heart card
  43.         is worth 1 point, and the Queen of Spades has a
  44.         value of 13 points.

  46.         There is a total of 200 points to a game. The player
  47.         with the lowest score wins the game.

  52.         To run Dirty Hearts, you'll need the following system:

  54.                 An IBM-compatible, 386 or better computer
  55.                 Two Megabytes of RAM
  56.                 A VGA monitor
  57.                 Windows 3.1, or Windows 95
  58.                 Hard Disk with two Megabytes free
  59.                 Mouse

  61.         You'll have more fun with these recommended additions:

  64.                 Four Megabytes of RAM

  69.         1. To get started with Dirty Hearts on a hard disk:
  70.                 a. Insert the Dirty Hearts disk in your
  71.                         floppy disk drive ('A', or 'B')
  72.                 b. From Windows 'run' A:\setup or B:\setup" and press
  73.                         Enter.
  74.                 c. Follow the screen directions.

  79.         To start the game, double click on the Dirty Hearts
  80.         icon in Windows.

  85.         If you have a problem, chances are you can fix it without
  86.         needing to get help. Try the following:

  88.         If the game says you have insufficient memory, or if it crashes,
  89.         try rebooting without loading any TSR programs, such as your
  90.         disk cache.

  92.         If the screen is to dark to see, try turning up the brightness
  93.         on your monitor.

  95.         If you are unable to fix your problems, try contacting us via
