Now it's MacroAde, Not MacroAid
June 14, 1991
I have to hand it to David Seidman of Software by Seidman. In addition
to publishing very useful WordPerfect utility packages, he's really on the
ball in monitoring his competition. This package, originally named MacroAid,
hadn't been on the major BBSs for a day before he called to alert me to the
fact that he had already used the MacroAid name on his own package first
released in December of 1990. I felt very badly about infringing on his
product's name and had tried to ensure that it hadn't already been used:
I spent several days searching various boards and shareware catalogs and
didn't run across it. Nevertheless, I immediately offered to change the
name to avoid confusion as soon as I updated the initial version.
This file is being included with the first and all subsequent updates
to explain why the imagery connoted in the name of this package has been
transformed from emergency medicine to a sweet elixir for your macros. The
purpose of the package remains the same: to make your life easier in working
with WordPerfect 5.1 macros.
