- Update
-
- * File search covers all directories of a drive.
-
- * Display is paused whenever screen becomes full.
-
- * Program can be terminated early with the ESCape key.
- A SUMMARY section displays the number of files found and
- the number of directories searched.
-
- * Can be incorporated into batch routines.
-
- * Quantity discounts for multiple registrations.
-
- * New in this version:
- FINDF can now search subdirectories nested up to sixteen
- levels deep, just in case anyone uses that many levels.
-
- Previous versions employed white text on black background
- exclusively; this version uses the default colors in
- effect when the program is started.
-
-
- Syntax: FINDF [filename.ext] [/S(hort display format)]
-
-
- With the growing storage capacities of modern disk drives,
- more and more files can be kept online, in more and more
- subdirectories. With so much space available, files can be
- misplaced more efficiently than ever before.
-
- FINDF(ile) searches the root and all subdirectories of the
- default drive for specified file(s), and writes the file
- information to screen or disk. Useful for locating misplaced
- files or for generating a listing of all files and
- subdirectories on a drive.
-
- FINDF has several output formats. In default mode, complete
- data is given for each file found: drive, directory,
- filename.ext, size, date, time. In optional [/S(hort
- display)] mode, only the drive, directory, and filename.ext
- are given.
-
- Output can be redirected to a file for documenting the
- contents of a disk. Output includes system date and time
- stamp (documentation includes a sample batch file that will
- generate a listing of all files and subdirectories on the
- default drive).
-
- Hardware Requirements : IBM PC, XT, AT or compatible
- with at least 64K RAM.
-
- Other Requirements : DOS 2.1 or later.
