Help information about: Display
E╔════════════════════════════════════════════════╗
E║ CThe DisplayE ║
E╚════════════════════════════════════════════════╝
The display contains four distinct parts. The top two lines are the
Ccontext areaB. This area shows where you are in space, the current date
and time, and the materials and task you're currently focussing on. The
figure below, for example, shows the upper left corner of an InContext
display. In this particular display, the current drive is drive CCB and the
current directory is CC:\DOSB.

The third line of the display is the Ccommand lineB, which shows what
commands are currently available for selection. In the example, the
commands include D FSDpace B, D FTDime B, and D FPDlans B.
All of the display below the command line, with the exception of the
bottom line, constitutes the Cmain display areaB. This area contains a
variety of information, and is subject to customization by the user. In
the example above, the user is looking at the available CviewsB, CclassesB,
CobjectsB, and CactionsB. The meaning of these terms is discussed elsewhere
in the help system. Briefly, though, the user has indicated that he
wants to look at the executable programs here (the "CProgramsB" view).
This results in several object classes being selected, including "bat",
"com", and "exe". Rather than focussing on only one of these classes,
the user is displaying "CALLB" classes. The user has selected a particular
object (Cbackup.comB), and can now perform one of the actions appropriate
for objects of this particular class.
It would be worthwhile to look back at the figure above, and notice how
the information in the context area corresponds to the selections the
user has made below.
The fourth area of the screen is the Cstatus lineB, which is the bottom
line of the display. This line sometimes contains instructions to the
user, such as:
D Select command (FMD for FMDore), or select any item on main display B
and sometimes indicates errors, as in:
J A non-empty directory cannot be deleted B
