  2. Here is information pertaining to how to get the new key for v2.66 of
  3. QuickBBS.  You may request a file from 1:363/1071 that contains the program
  4. called: QUICKEY.  It is contained in QUICKEY.zip.  Simply run the program and
  5. then file attach the file it produces (which will be called 'QuickBBS.UPG'.
  6. Do not change any of the data unless you are sure to keep the format intact.
  7. Use a plain ASCII editor if you find it necessary, OR simply re-run the
  8. program which produces it.

  12. You need to create a file that has exactly 12 lines in the format shown
  13. below:

  16. <Your name as on config.bbs>
  17. <Your BBS name>
  18. <your old key here>
  19. <Your BBS phone>
  20. <Your Home Phone>
  21. <Your address line 1>
  22. <Your address line 2 or blank line>
  23. <Your city, state and zip>
  24. <With whom you originally registered>   eg, QGI or USTI or ADAM
  25. <When you registered>   mm\dd\yy (estimate if you have to)
  26. <How much you paid>
  27. <Your net\node number>

  29. It is important that each line be filled in, however, if you don't have a
  30. net\node number, leave a blank line as a placeholder.

  32. Do not include the brackets '<' or '>' or any leading or trailing
  33. spaces.  This file should NOT contain ANY control characters except for
  34. the CRLF at the end of each line.  No form feeds, tabs, or the like.

  36. This file should be named 'QUICKBBS.UPG'.

  38. File attach this file to 1:363/1071 and it will immediately return a file
  39. called 'QUICKBBS.KEY' which will contain either your new key, or an short
  40. note explaining what went wrong. After Friday 11\2\90, you can call 1:363/34
  41. at it's new number (407) 896-0494 which *should* be in service by then.

  43. If it returns a key, enter it EXACTLY as shown, with no extra spaces
  44. either before or after the key.  If the new key is shorter, be sure and
  45. delete the extra characters, and backspace to eliminate the extra space
  46. at the end.

  48. Remember, the file you send us is 'QUICKBBS.UPG', the file we send you will
  49. be 'QUICKBBS.KEY'.

  51. Non-network nodes will be able to register by direct login to 1:363/1071 or
  52. 1:363\34.  A door will be provided for instant key translation on those
  53. boards, and should be ready after this weekend.  The FREQ key translator is
  54. available now.
