  3. This is a preliminary release.  I dare not call it "Beta" because I'm fairly
  4. certain that it is close to bug-free, however I wanted to get it out to y'all
  5. so that I could get some feedback and maybe find some new bugs before the
  6. "final" release version.

  8. The documentation is also a little sketchy so bare with it, please.  Please DO
  9. read it though, as it's taken me about a week to get that thing together and
  10. proofread it adequately...now I know why people are so sensitive about RTFM
  11. questions!

  13. After you run FCConfig you can try out FastChat in local mode by typing:

  15. FASTCHAT /LOCAL
  16.  
  17. Everything the sysop types will be echoed in the user's window as well.  If
  18. you have selected the External page bell make SURE you run PageRaC first or
  19. else you will get a runtime error....
  20.  
  21. FastChat may chirp two or three times when testing it locally, due to the
  22. absence of EXITINFO.BBS.  This can be safely ignored, as when a "real" user
  23. pages, this file will be present.  If chirping persists, make certain you have
  24. the exitinfo.bbs directory in the configuration specified correctly.

  33. ps: FastChat can "safely" be LZEXE'd and it is recommended that you do so for
  34.     space saving concerns.  Compresses slightly over 50% I think . . .
