  24. A BRIEF DESCRIPTION
  25. -------------------
  26. MFA is a program designed to help people organize thoughts and ideas in the
  27. form of a flowchart. MFA is a text based program, so it is much faster and
  28. easier to work with than some graphics based flowchart programs. MFA, being
  29. text based, has virtually no hardware limitations. Even if you have a daisy
  30. wheel printer and a monochrome monitor, MFA will work.

  33. HOW MICRO FLOWCHART AID WORKS
  34. -----------------------------
  35. MFA is very close in design to a spread sheet in that it is cell oriented.
  36. There are 594 cells in MFA, six columns by 99 rows. The cells can contain
  37. text, symbols, or lines connecting symbols. MFA comes with a default set of
  38. 30 symbols and lines. Text can be put in any symbol or on any line. The
  39. default symbol set contains basic programming symbols. You can design your
  40. own sets of symbols with a symbol generator that comes with your
  41. registration kit.

  46. MFA comes with several files. Check the list below against a directory
  47. listing of the disk.

  64. FIRST RUN MFASETUP
  65. ------------------
  66. To help MFA configure to your system, run MFASETUP. Here you will choose the
  67. type printer, monitor, and ports used.

  70. FOR A QUICK LESSON
  71. ------------------
  72. Load MFA at the DOS prompt with the name of the first tutorial file for a
  73. quick overview of some of its features. To do this type "MFA MFATUTR1.FLW"
  74. at the DOS prompt.

  77. WHICH KEYS TO PUSH
  78. ------------------
  79. Once MFA is loaded, a complete set of the keys used can be found in the help
  80. screens. To activate HELP, push the F1 function key. Use PGDN and PGUP to go
  81. through the help screens.

  128. not free and is not in the public domain. MFA is marketed as SHAREWARE.
  129. That means you have the privilege of trying it out first and then paying
  130. for it if it meets your needs. Feel free to use it for a short while, but
  131. upon continued use, it must be registered.
