Notes & Updates
---------------
To print the documentation, copy IPV3.DOC to the printer
with the DOS COPY command:
COPY IPV3.DOC PRN:
The documentation is formatted for 8 x 11 inch fan-fold paper.
Make sure your printer starts at the top of a page.
Do NOT print IPV3.DOC with IMAGEPRINT. There are many examples
of IMAGEPRINT backslash commands contained in it, which would be
interpreted as commands, rather than examples, causing the
documentation to print incorrectly.
*********************
If you want to try IMAGEPRINT before printing the documentation,
type:
IP
at the DOS prompt and then press ENTER. The default font will be
FONT1 (Cubic). Input will come from the console, or keyboard.
The output will go to the default printer LPT1:. When the full-
screen menu appears, press function key F10.
You are now in "typewriter" mode. You can type in a line, press
the ENTER key, and the line will print in high quality.
To exit to DOS, press CTRL-Z or Function key 6 at the beginning
of a line, then press ENTER.
*********************
The IMAGEPRINT files on the DISTRIBUTION diskette are:
README Introduction, directions
ORDER.FRM IMAGEPRINT order form
IPV3.DOC The IMAGEPRINT User Manual
IP.EXE IMAGEPRINT program
FONT1 Cubic font - good for 10 or 12 chars/inch
FONTDEMO.EXE Program used for a demonstration of other fonts
DEMODATA Data file for FONTDEMO.EXE
IMPTUTR1.TXT Simple IMAGEPRINT demonstration
IMPTUTR2.TXT Detailed IMAGEPRINT demonstration
Also included are the following utilities:
UTILS.DOC CONTROL and ENHANCE program documentation
CONTROL.EXE Utility to control printer, boiler-plate text
REM-CTRL.EXE Program to remove CONTROL from memory
CONTROL.DAT Epson control code data file - used with CONTROL
SAMPLE.DAT Text string data file - used with CONTROL
ENHANCE.EXE Utility to improve graphics output
*********************
NOTE ABOUT THE "-#" COMMAND LINE OPTION
With the "-#" command line option, mentioned in IPV3.DOC,
ImagePrint can output to a disk file, for later printing on your
printer.
Make sure you have enough room on your disk to hold the output
file. ImagePrint outputs a lot of data because it drives your
printer in graphics mode. For example, a single page of text can
take up 360K of disk space.
*********************
IMAGEPRINT SUPERSCRIPT/SUBSCRIPT:
ImagePrint won't print any text that would require a backward
movement of paper through the printer. This means that some
characters of the larger fonts (FONT4, FONT5, FONT7, FONT12,
FONT15) will not print in superscript or subscript mode.
